A：今天我要给大家介绍一个关于水果的有趣用法，apple of one's eye. XXX,你来猜猜这是什么意思吧？

B：A-P-P-L-E apple苹果 O-F of O-N-E-S ones 某人的 E-Y-E eye眼睛，谁的眼睛的苹果?这是什么意思呢？

A：其实啊，apple of one's eye的意思是：掌上明珠，心爱物。请大家跟我读两遍, apple of one's eye.

B：原来如此，“她是她父亲的掌上明珠”是不是就可以说：She is the apple of her father's eye.

B：Boys and girls, Do you know last Sunday was Mother’s Day？你知道吗，上周日是母亲节。Mother's day is a festival of thanks to the mother.

A：Mother’s Day first appeared in ancient Greece. On this day, the ancient Greeks paid their respects to the mother of gods, Cybele.母亲节最早出现在古希腊。在这一天，古希腊人向众神之母希布莉致敬。

B：By ancient Rome, the scale of these activities became larger.The celebration often lasted for three days.到古罗马时，这些活动的规模就变得更大，庆祝盛况往往持续达三天之久。
A：Mother's day spread to England in the middle of the 17th century, when the fourth Sunday of lent was celebrated as Mother's Day. On this day, young people who go out would return home and bring small gifts to their mothers. 在17世纪中叶，母亲节流传到英国，英国人把封斋期的第四个星期天作为母亲节。在这一天里，出门在外的年轻人将回到家中，给他们的母亲带上一些小礼物。 　　
B：In 1907, Andre Methodist church was invited to hold a service for mothers. The following year,this ceremony was held in Philadelphia,and the response was warm. 1907年，安德烈卫理教堂应邀为母亲们举行一个礼拜仪式。隔年，此仪式在费城举行，反应热烈。

A：In 1913,the second Sunday of May was set as Mother's Day in the U.S. Mother's day has been spread from then on.1913年，美国国会通过了一份议案，将每年5月的第二个星期天作为法定的母亲节。母亲节从此流传开来！
