A：Boys and girls,welcome to 2018! Happy New Year! This Monday was New year’s day.What do you know about New Year's day?

B:New Year’s day is the first day of the lunar calendar.It is the day when the earth circled the sun for one round and is beginning another circling.元旦这一天是阳历的第一天。在这一天，地球围绕太阳公转完成一周并开启新一周的公转。

A:It represents a new beginning when people send off the old days and welcome the new ones.送走旧的一年、迎接新的一年，这一天对于人们来说是一个新的开始。

B:So as the first day of the year ,New Year’s day has been considered to be the most important festival since the ancient times. 元旦是新年的伊始，因此，从古至今人们都把这一天视作最重要的节日。

A:In China,we usually organize activities,such as New Year's Day party,hanging banners or other collective activities.在我国，比较普遍的就是由团体组织的活动，如元旦联欢会、挂庆祝元旦的标语或其他举行集体活动。
